| Due
to a request from our Examiners and Masters,
a Marshalling Course for Black Belts is
to be held at 6.30pm on MONDAY 30th MARCH
@ Dragon’s Spirit Dojang.
(Dragon’s Spirit Do-Jang
– Papatoetoe High School Gym, Papatoetoe
High, Carlie Street, Papatoetoe. Go to the
end of the street and enter the school gate,
turn sharp right around the green caretakers
shed and follow the fence-line around to
the field and down to the gym.)
This is to be attended by all Black Belts.
There is a clear expectation that Marshalling
is part of a Black Belts service to ITFNZ
and Taekwon-Do. Irrespective of whether
you consider yourself a marshalling expert
or not, you must attend. Under advice from
the Examiners and Masters, a standardising
of procedures and expectations must occur.
The contents of the course will
be as follows:
- Baseline Observation of Black
Belts (alertness, communication, body
language & clarity)
- Technical Expectations
- Control of the grading and
participants
- Demonstration do’s and
don’t’s
- Use of terminology
- Protocols
- Dress standard
- Self evaluation
All students who attend will be certificated.
There will be two levels: “A”
Level Marshall and “B” Level
Marshall. (This is to give people something
to aim for in the future).
The course is to be taken by:
Mr. Kane Raukura (5th Degree) Head Instructor
– Dragon’s Spirit Taekwon-Do.
Director of the Standards and Discipline
Committee.
Mr. Shaun Tolley (5th Degree) Head Instructor
– Eastern ITF Howick. Regional Examiner
and Acting Secretary of ITFNZ.
Any apologies must be directed to your
Regional Director as soon as possible (no
apologies would be the most acceptable).
I thank you for your co-operation and full
support in this endeavour.
Sincerely,
Mr. Kane Raukura
Director
Standards and Discipline
