Who can attend?

1st Dans and above .

Prerequisite

Must be a 1st Dan and above
(plus lower grades with special permission)

Course Content

The course covers many aspects of instructing and how to teach Taekwon-Do. There is a mix of theory and practical aspects to this course. The course content provides valuable insights and tools to becoming an Instructor.

Half Day

Mr Mike Lowe - Member of the ITFNZ Technical Committee or another member of the ITFNZ Technical Committee as and where appropriate.

How often is this qualification renewed?

This course is required to be completed once only

Qualification/Certification

This course is a required qualification for all ITFNZ Instructors before they can start their own school.

Is the attendee qualified to start a school?

Yes, as long as all the criteria for opening and operating a school have been met and approved by the Technical Director. More details here.

What is the cost?

$25 individual, $45 family of two, $50 family of three or more.

Funding may be available from your region to attend these courses.

Who can attend?

Open to all ITFNZ Instructors & Assistant Instructors. Others that are not Instructors may also be permitted to attend if space is available.

Prerequisite

Should be a current ITFNZ Instructor or Assistant Instructor (plus lower grades that are currently assisting or are potential Instructors may attend with special permission)

Half Day

Course Content

This course is mainly practical with emphasis on providing technical updates and practice of the ITFNZ techniques syllabus.

Course Facilitator

Master Paul McPhail - Director, ITFNZ Technical Committee or another member of the ITFNZ Technical Committee as and where appropriate.

How often is this qualification renewed?

You are required to attend this course (or other qualifying course) every 2 years to ensure your ITFNZ Instructors' Certificate remains current.

Qualification/Certification

ITFNZ Instructors' Certificate remains current and the ITFNZ website is updated to reflect this (schools section). An International Instructors' Course (IIC) is also accepted as an equivalent course and can be used to update the Instructors' Certificate.

What is the cost?

$25 individual, $45 family of two, $50 family of three or more.

Funding may be available from your region to attend these courses.

Who can attend?

This is a short course designed for those Instructors who were unable to attend an Update course in the past two years.

Prerequisite

Must be a current ITFNZ Instructor.

Course Duration

Evening Course

Course Content

This course is mainly practical with emphasis on providing technical updates and practice of the ITFNZ techniques syllabus. Will also include practical assessment of instructing skills.

Course Facilitator

Any one of the Instructor Development Officers (IDO)

Qualification/Certification

This course will extend your Instructors' Certificate until the next available Update Course.

What is the cost?

$25 for individual

 

 

 

Who can attend?

Fully qualified ITFNZ Instructors and Assistant Instructors.

Prerequisite

Must be a current ITFNZ Instructor or Assistant Instructor who has completed both an Instructors' Induction Course and an Instructors' Update Course.

Course Duration

Full Day

Course Content

A range of advanced courses
that will focus on not only the ‘how’ but also the ‘who’ . The courses will focus much more on instructing in practice, including the ability to
practise student-centred instructing.

Mr Mike Lowe - Member of the ITFNZ Technical Committee or another member of the ITFNZ Technical Committee as and where appropriate.

Qualification/Certification

These courses are optional and do not have a bearing on your Instructors' Certificate Qualification.

What is the cost?

$45 individual, $85 family of two, $90 family of three or more.

Funding may be available from your region to attend these courses.

 

 

 

Who can attend?

Open 4th degree black belts and above, Instructors or non-Instructors.

Prerequisite

Open only to ITFNZ 4th degree black belts and above.

Course Duration

Weekend

Course Content

THis course is a mix of technical training, discussions and socialising between our senior members. It also involved brainstorming sessions and planning for the future.

Course Facilitators

Master Paul McPhail and Master Davidson.

How often is this qualification renewed?

This course is also accepted as an equivalent course and can be used to update the Instructors' Certificate (2 yearly).

Qualification/Certification

ITFNZ Instructors' Certificate remains current and the ITFNZ website is updated to reflect this (schools section).

What is the cost?

Normally a package of around $150 including food and accommodation.
