Gary - I have already heard some good things about your sparring against
Drapic. Hold your head high, the bar has been set... but not in concreate.
Take the experience and prepare for your next test.
I am working with a small team going to the World Cup in Spain in
October. So I am looking forward to catching up with you 3 in November
as there will be much to learn, much to teach.
Sparring here is HUGE. In some cases they don't care what you can
do if you can't spar or do Tul then they don't want to know. But at
the same time they are awesome.

Can't get into clear so has to be via here. Tegucigalpa is much less
overwhelming after a couple of
days. Security on almost every shop but friendly. Beggars in the city

excursion out of city to small town - Valley of Angels @ 1400m. Artisan
centre with lots of stuff -
plan to take kids there 2 morrow, training dependent. Bit of a hassle
trying to get facilities to
train in - up to this point has been mainly outside in carparks. Food
has been good and not too
unfamiliar. David will be up Friday PM for team specialty. Pre-arranged
is over 3 sessions with
winners demonstrating on final day...so depends on draw. Will see
draw on Thurs. after coaches mtg,
weigh in etc. Argentina arrived 2night - recognised a few faces from
Italy. Remembered a couple of
Canadians in Houston too. Lots of Spanish coming back, helped by girls
serving food and other
hotel staff. More tomorrow. Love Richard and David
...days later. Heaps to do, hard to get access to laptop to write.
1st day comp. Some surprises,
some disappointments. David and Jess looking good. They have to do
their routine at least 4 times.
Sort of a run through today (went well, David thought average), 2
runs tomorrow that will be scored
and possibly another final run on Sunday. Then winners get to demo
at end of comp. Kane did well
today - big run through patterns - see results. Some poor organisation
at times at venue. Annoyed
coaches when rules changed today regarding special technique - some
run ups disallowed which
affected several of our team. Some very quick changes to their technique,
but not the results we
wanted. Very long days 6am wake up - just got back 4 tea 8:20pm. Some
frustrations at the speed of
getting things done like photocopies, running out of Limpira when
we want to change $'s. Will be
very tired bunnies by end of tournament. Otherwise all fine, no problems.
