ITFNZ Techniques Handbook

Updated 2002

Amendments:

- "9th dan" under Gen. Choi's photo (and in 10th gup syllabus) replaced with dates: "1918 - 2002".

- Changed "outer forearm high wedging block" to "outer forearm wedging block" to save having to add middle when it appears later (7th gup). Same with middle reverse punch and other such instances.

- 2.5 cm changed to 3 cm - for black trim on black belt uniform (6th gup).

- Student Instructor relationship (Students) added to 5th gup theory. (The Instructor section is in the black belt theory).

- Ready stances added for stances previously missed in stances sections - eg L-ready stance, x-ready stance etc

- Dress for training rules..."Students may wear a plain white T-shirt..." added (6th gup)

- Reference to Hillary Commission removed from NZ history (4th gup)

- "Backfist side front strike" moved to "Offensive Techniques" (3rd gup)

- "(Single defence)" added to W-Shape block (3rd gup defensive techniques). NB W-shape block in Toi-Gye is the single defence method. Defence against two attackers is introduced at 3rd dan level.

- 4 Direction thrust moved to "Fundamental Exercise" heading (2nd gup)

- "for promotion to ..." added to the top of each page similar to the black belt handbook.

- "Personal record" section adding on back page to keep track of credit points - same as the black belt handbook.

- Various small grammatical improvements
