Starting Tuesday 4 September and Wednesday 5 September, we have a weekly class for black belts only at the Auckland Taekwon-Do Academy!
Weekly training on black belt topics taught by the Auckland seniors of ITFNZ Taekwon-Do! The same class will be taught on Tuesday and Wednesday – you only attend one night per week. We recommend this extra day is additional to your regular training, but if your weeknights are limited and your instructor agrees, you may replace one regular weeknight session at your regular school. (This is not a replacement for your regular school.)
You must register to attend! Classes are strictly limited to 25 students on Tuesdays and 25 students on Wednesdays, so be in quick! Classes are only $20 per month! The opening nights will be HUGE, introducing the classes and instructors, and including an opening session by Master Paul McPhail!
Master Paul McPhail, VII dan
Mr Mahesh Bhana, VI dan
Mr Steve Pellow, VI dan
Mark Banicevich, V dan
Matthew Breen, V dan

More athletes – regular training.
ITFNZ Taekwon-Do in Auckland and Counties Manukau has many black belts – and over the years we have lost many black belts. Many become bored with regular classes focussing on coloured belt techniques.
The Auckland Taekwon-Do Academy Athletes class will provide a weekly class of hard training with two goals:
Mark Banicevich, V dan: class coach and patterns
Mr Banicevich worked with members of the New Zealand senior team prior to the World Championships in Quebec, 2007. Many athletes enjoyed the hard training and asked Mr Banicevich for more – hence this class.
Mark Trotter, IV dan: sparring and patterns coach
Mr Trotter is one of the most respected free sparrers in New Zealand. He also won a gold medal in Quebec for pre-arranged sparring (with Mr Thompson) and a silver medal in IV-VI dan patterns.
Luke Thompson, II dan: power coach
Mr Thompson is current World Champion for power test. He also won a gold medal in Quebec for pre-arranged sparring, with Mr Trotter.
Carl van Roon, I dan: special technique and sparring coach
Mr van Roon is thrice World Champion in special technique. He also won a bronze medal in individual sparring in Quebec, 2007 and is one of New Zealand’s most respected free sparrers.
Thu Thach, III dan: class manager
Dr Thach is the instructor of the Tamaki school, which runs from the same location as the Auckland Taekwon-Do Academy. Her club kindly shares their facility with us.
Membership to the Auckland Taekwon-Do Academy Athletes class costs $20 per person per month, payable by direct debit on the first banking day of each month.
Auckland black belts get one free introductory lesson. After this lesson, they must be members of the class to train.
It is possible that members who already pay fees to their own school may have their Auckland Taekwon-Do Academy membership fees paid by their school. Talk to the class coach if you pay fees at your own school.
Visiting black belts from outside of Auckland are welcome to train, at a casual rate of $5 per person per class.
The coaches and class manager do not pay membership fees to the Auckland Taekwon-Do Academy.
Training fees are utilised as follows:
Members of Auckland Taekwon-Do Academy must:
